Growing Disciples

From time to time, I like to sit back and reflect about where we are and where we are going (growing!).  If you are a regular member or attender of Church of the Holy Apostles, you know that when I say that God is so clearly present among us, you know I am telling the truth.  I have never experienced the visible and tangible presence of God in worship like I do here.  I am not sure why that is true but generally speaking, I think it has to do with unity of purpose and focus.  It's not that everyone that gathers on Sunday with us even knows the purpose that we gather and worship but many, many people do.  I have known churches who's main purpose was individual "agendas" or being "consumers" or being stuck in tradition (with a small t).  Not so here.  We take seriously God's call to us to be disciples.  There's little room for personal agendas when one is working hard at developing a discipled life style.

Our leadership at COTHA is a stunning group of disciples that teach me and encourage me in ways that are surprising, delightful and unexpected.  Feeling love and support can make all the difference in the world.  And I feel that here.  What a blessing it is to know that and feel that, in both big and small ways.

God has great plans for us... I know that to the very core of my soul.  He has seen us through hard times and good times.... we are entering into "God times," where our focus and clarity become even more visibily present.  I am so excited about what lies ahead and I invite you to invite others to join us as we see God change the world through us!

By the way, not only do I feel love, I love the people at COTHA too!  It is an awesome place!  As our mission statement says "We are disciples, who make disciples!"  And there is nothing more loving and encouraging to see that happening!
